About Hopkins Village

We are in Hopkins, just south of Dangriga. Being located on the central part of the Belizean coastline puts most of the country within reach of Beaches & Dreams. The Barrier Reef, Cockscomb Basin Jaguar Preserve Three Sisters waterfalls, are all within easy reach. The Maya ruins and Glover's Reef require full days to do but are well worth the trip.
Hopkins itself is a small Garifuna Fishing village, but also home to a diverse cultural community of Creoles, Mestizos and Mayans, all providing their input into the melting pot that makes Hopkins a wonderful village to visit. With 5 miles of beach, we are located at the southern edge of the beach, away from the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts, but with-in walking distance to them all. Enjoy the feeling of seclusion on your own patch of perfect beach, while being close to all the happenings of the village. Take a kayak out to see the sun set over Victoria’s Peak, the highest mountain in Belize and view the rest of the Mystic Maya Mountains as another day in paradise closes her eyes.
Enjoy an evening of local Garifuna Drumming and sample the local cuisines.Mingle with the friendly villagers, always anxious to share their rich culture with visitors. Hopkins is known as the Friendliest Village in Belize, and for good reason.
Watch the local fisherman paddle out at sunrise in their dugout canoes to catch their fish for the day. In the afternoon, a few sailboats can be seen on the horizon and morning charters come in with from fly fishing, trollong and snorkeling and scuba diving all from our little village.
Take and early morning bike ride to see a plethora of birds bidding good morning to a new day. Hopkins location near the mouth of the Sittee River lends to its diverse populace of flora and fauna, providing seafront, savannah, mountains and jungle all with-in a 5 mile radius to Beaches and Dreams.
