Hopkins Day is an annual event, usually at the end of July. The week leading up to Hopkins Day is a big, annual week of clean up where the grass is cut and any debris or trash is picked up. The village looks its best. Everyone pitches in because they are proud to invite visitors to the village and see how beautiful it is.

It took me about a month to figure out the best way to buy food after moving to Hopkins, Belize. Coming from NYC where same day delivery was common and 24 hour stores were fully stocked, Hopkins was a very different shopping experience.

For the first week that we are in Hopkins we will be staying in our new hotel as guests. We are exploring the resort and village like tourists this week. Thats ok, it doesn't quite feel like we live here yet anyway!

Today we moved to Belize, to live and work. We are coming from NYC, moving to Hopkins, Belize to run a resort called Beaches and Dreams. Ryan and I have lived in NYC for about 20 years. Our kids, Fay (9) and Rex (7) have lived in NYC their whole lives.
