Ryan’s did Jessica (who own the hotel) live on premises and are attentive to everyone staying there. They create truly individualized tour packages. While our “elders” spent one day learning about Garifuna culture and cooking coconut soup over an open fire for our lunch, the next generations went rappelling and zip lining. We joined up the next day to see Xunantunich and go cave tubing. Each of the local guides were knowledgeable and friendly. There are only 6 rooms that are air conditioned (a welcome amenity when there were no breezes to cool us down, but not essential at other times so you could opt for one of the bungalows or the tree house if these rooms are full). read less - beachesand

Jessica and Ryan have the most wonderful staff! Throughout our stay, the staff made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were so clean that my boys (who don’t clean their room until my head spins 360) actually commented on how clean the staff kept them. The staff and owners’ friendliness make the guests feel like family. If you want an authentic feel to your stay, connecting with the staff is easy as they are funny, like to converse, and even will play volleyball with the guests. Several mixed staff and guest volleyball matches erupted, even during our short stay. They are knowledgeable, share their customs, and are very open to answering questions about Belize’s diverse culture, history, and traditions.
The excursions are not to be missed, although I suggest leaving a day between excursions to enjoy the resort and visiting the village of Hopkins.
We can not wait to go back for another fantastic time at Beaches and Dreams!!

Ryan was very patient and accommodating over the past year, as it took us several attempts to get our act together to plan and book this trip. When we finally made a commitment and booked our accommodations at B&D, they arranged our diving for us with a local diving shop. Francine put together a proposed itinerary for our group that not only included the diving, but some local land activities to take in. She was very flexible to cancel these plans and let us decide what activities we wanted to do after we arrived. Beaches and Dreams is a small boutique resort that easily accommodated our group of 6. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Some of us enjoyed the air conditioning in their main hotel room while the rest of us enjoyed the cabanas on the beach. The meals provided by the Barracuda Restaurant and Grill were excellent and their daily specials were creative and different in order to keep the menu “fresh”. The real commitment of Ryan, Jessica and Francine to their guests was evident on our last day of diving when my husband displayed symptoms of decompression sickness. Francine knew and contacted a local dive safety specialist in San Pedro, Abner Bacab, who arranged an air evacuation for us to San Pedro, met us at the airport, accompanied us to the doctor’s office and hyperbolic chamber for treatments. Francine handled our other needs by booking accommodations for us in San Pedro and Jessica, drove us to the Dangriga airport and shipped our luggage to us the next day, because we literally left with the clothes on our back!
We are personally indebted to B&D for handling this situation as well the team of people in San Pedro who provided the medical care my husband required. Our lovely trip to Belize could have ended very differently without their extra ordinary care and concern. More read less - 727lesliel - - Trek40824

This post for a review will not do this place justice. Beaches and Dreams Resort, along with Hopkins itself, was unbelievable! From the moment we landed and were picked up by the friendliest guy named Oz to our jungle tour in the Monkey River Village and being shown the beautiful waters by Steven and Jeremy, the staff and owners made us feel like it was our own tropical home away from reality and they treated us like their own family. The food was beyond incredible and Birdman’s drinks were even better 🙂 this trip was the second time being down at the resort for some of my family members and it was my first time that I’ll never forget. We can’t wait to go back in a year from now and soon enough, we will begin to plan for 2021!! Thank you, Beaches and Dreams for the hospitality. read less - Cody - - beachesand

Tough to hand such a large group that ranged from kids to retirees but this group handled beautifully providing education, excitement and humor. I think everyone agreed this excursion exceed everyone's expectations. We started the morning with a overview of the keys by boat, then our guides showed us how we kick off fishing by throwing nets for our bait. We then spent some time trolling for big fish letting a couple get away but finally reeling in a barracuda. With limited trolling poles and so many wanting to fish we switched tactics fishing along edge of reef. Everyone that wanted to catch a fish did and at a few points we had 3 or 4 fish on lines at one time. In only a couple hours we caught more than 20 keepers (mostly red and yellow snapper) and several throwbacks. Our guides were so helpful in teaching the young one's and helping everyone with such enthusiasm. After fishing we stopped at a laid back island for a chicken lunch then headed our for group snorkeling where Steven did a great job keeping tabs on everyone and pointing out different highlights. We headed back late afternoon where they cleaned our fish for us and sent us back with enough fish for a great evening dinner on the grill. I highly recommend this... Ryan quoted us with everything we needed to stay including ground transportation, food, & drinks! This made it much easier to plan our vacation. Everyone here is down to earth and extremely friendly. We ate at the Barracuda Restaurant pretty much every day and evening. The food was amazing and the specials were so good that I don't think we ever even ordered a regular menue item. There is so much to do in this area of Belize and all of the adventures can be booked right through the office at Beaches and Dreams. We we're able to go SCUBA Diving, fishing, snorkeling, & a hike to Antelope Falls. You could also take the bikes or golf cart for a spin and check out all of the local places. read less - Patrick
