Beaches & Dreams and Cabana Village

Beaches and dreams was AMAZING! Every staff person was extremely kind and helpful, the food was amazing and the rooms were very comfortable. They were flexible and did a great job helping plan our week. One of us got sick and the staff made it a point to go out of their way to help in any way that they could. Amazing experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful facilities. Everything was perfect. Great communication before the trip, and all the assistance we needed during the trip. There's always opportunity for difficulty and stress when arriving in a foreign country and navigating around. From the moment we walked out of the airport (Victor was waiting with an air conditioned van) to the moment we left, Beaches and Dreams helped us create a wonderful Belize experience. We also had a lot of free time to explore on our own, and with the free bikes from B&D, we explored the beautiful village of Hopkins and spent time with the locals. - Nicholas - 7/27/2023

The staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful. Sadly we visited at the start of rainy season, so didn't get to enjoy their beach. BUT, the stay, food, and excursions have all been great!

We stayed in a bungalow on the beach and it was fabulous! The Baracuda restaurant was right there and the food was amazing. All of our excursions were planned ahead of time, so all we had to do was show and go. Oz was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of info on our excursions. Best trip ever!! Great bartender Ben aka “sexy guy, Justin and Darnell were so helpful with any questions we had, Pauline in the restaurant was the best! K Mike took us snorkeling and it was awesome! First family trip outside of the USA and we had a rough first day. Melanie, in the front office, arranged a trip to a clinic for our son who smashed his face on the ocean from flipping off the big dock of another resort. Dr. Valentine took great care of us. Restaurant staff were extremely accommodating, supportive and attentive to us while we were so out of sorts.

The menu is small but EVERYTHING is delicious and fresh. Definitely try the Family Lunch if available. We already miss our breakfasts and we’re sad to only have one day with the Sea Bar. Best Pizza and Kebobs!

Our drivers, our tour guides, the office staff and Barracuda gang went above and beyond for every task and request. Ruger, the 19-yr old resort dog, was a bit temperamental but always happy, and he was my one son’s favorite resort member. The local boys were my other son’s favorite people. They hung out every day.

Cabana rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable. We stayed in Scarlett McCaw and our boys in Garden Haven. Two separate rooms/entrances in one cabana. Perfect for our family. Water pressure and toilets are slower here. And that was ok once we adjusted our attitudes.

We were hardly ever in the rooms because we were busy with our adventures and being outside. Everything being arranged and scheduled for us made this experience so amazing that we are already planning our next trip.

Snorkeling, Jungle Horse, Xunatunich, Cave Tubing, Monkey River and Zip Lining at Angel Falls. We saw sharks, schools of fish, beautiful coral, monkeys, crocodiles, bats, toucans, pelicans, ruins that are thousands of years old, and the cleanest water around. We learned so much about Hopkins, Belizeans, culture and history . All of our drivers and guides were passionate.

Weather had canceled an adventure so when we begged for some magic from Melanie and Lauren. Not only did they rearrange our last two days for us but they sent us to a more extreme zip lining company snd I’m so grateful because it was the highlight for all of us. Definitely request Angel Falls if you are the adrenaline seeker. I’m not. I survived. I get motion sick and don’t like heights but Frisco and Jose made me feel so safe and comfortable that I would do it again.

We did not need as much cash as we brought. Restaurant gratuity can be added to the room. We tipped our drivers and guides in cash. Souvenirs in cash are a little cheaper but most places take credit cards.

There are shops in Dangriga Airport. You can buy sunscreen and bug spray there. We brought 4 sunscreen and 2 bug sprays. Needed extra bug spray; we had sun protective clothing and I had a neck fan.

Rent the golf cart. Go into Hopkins. It felt like the safest place on the planet. If you want other snacks, go to the grocery store. I know it might seem different to eat at only certain times when you’re on vacation but it was plenty and perfect (except your arrival travel day if you were like us - we were a hot mess that first day, and they loved on us like family).

This place has exceeded our expectations 10 fold. From the moment we have arrived till right now as I’m sitting in a chair at cabana village with a cold beer looking at the beautiful ocean. If the views don’t wow you the staff will. The food is amazing wait staff and bar tenders make sure you’re taken care of. Some of the most genuinely nicest people I’ve ever met in my life. They go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing time. Tomorrow is our last full day and I’m dreading saying bye to everyone . Ryan and Jess thank you from the bottom of our hearts . You have made this the absolute best vacation we have ever had and if I could rate this 100 stars I would . All I can say is WOW! I miss it already. We visited Beaches and Dreams in August for a week's vacation with my family and my sister's family. We stayed in the Blue Parrot house booked through Beaches and Dreams, which allowed us all to be together with a pool on the beach. Making the reservations and booking the tours was a piece of cake. They just took such good care of us from the get go. Any question or issue was addressed immediately. The all Belizian staff was one of the best parts. They truly became our friends. During planning, I was a little worried about only having one restaurant, but it was actually one of my favorite parts. They had new dinner specials each day and the food was fantastic as was the service! Ben, Evan, Milky, Ceasar, Amanda...you guys are WONDERFUL. Oh, and the tours...I really thought they were booked through another company, but no...we had our very own tour guides and our tours were incredible. Our favorite had to be the Mayan temple and Cave Tubing with Oz. It was a FULL day, but I have never experienced anything like it and learned so much about Belizian history and culture. All of the tour guides...Oz, Victor, K-Mike, and the snorkeling crew again, just took great care of us. Everything was planned to perfection. This is truly a little slice of heaven. We went there to relax and have a little fun and I can honestly say, it was one vacation that I came home actually feeling rested. The sad part is that I really want to go back. - Emily - 8/28/2024
