Beaches & Dreams and Cabana Village

We visited with a group of friends and family to celebrate my 50th. Beaches and Dreams has exceeded our expectations.

We are a group of mixed ages and abilities. The resort easily accommodates this variety. The relaxation opportunities are wonderful from lounging to massages to floating in the pool. The opportunities for the more adventurous range from caving to hiking and are breathtaking. The tour guides are friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating.

Now let’s talk about the staff — or should I say “family” — who work at beaches and dreams. They are wonderful and might even be the best part of the trip. The people are genuine and happy. They are so welcoming and we just felt close to them. They know all of our names and even the bartender knows our itinerary.

I cannot say enough about the employees but an extra special shout out to Ms. P and Ben. Ms P is WONDERFUL. Aside from being a fantastic waitress, she is obviously a WONDERFUL human. She chatted with us in a manner that was genuine and real. I absolutely love her and hope to see her again. Ben is more reserved but his smile lights up the bar. He’s a great bartender and took care of all our special requests. He worked extremely hard while we were visiting and had a smile on his face.

I’m getting long winded so some other helpful details: beds good pillows and towels. Plenty of water in the rooms, small refrigerator, ice outside rooms, nice seating area, great solitary places to relax and great group places to relax.

Highly recommend, particularly for groups. We had six families, 21 people, and Beaches and Dreams staff worked with us to coordinate a group trip with different packages to meet the needs of each family. The resort itself is the perfect size for such a trip. Our teenagers (and several of the adults) could play volleyball any time they wanted. There was never a battle for pool chairs or space. The paddle boards, bikes, and golf carts were readily available most of the time.

But the best thing about Beaches and Dreams is, by far, the people. Every one of them is friendly, enthusiastic, and so good at what they do. The bartenders kept the drinks flowing, with a variety of delicious cocktails (included in the drink package) and even got creative and a few new ones to hit the spot with our party. The restaurant, Barracuda, was fantastic. They managed our group of 21 perfectly, and the food was delicious every time. Between the regular menu and specials, I had something different every time and still left without trying everything I wanted to. The tour guides and drivers for the excursions are so knowledgeable about the area and happy to share that information. The people of Hopkins are friendly and we felt safe and welcomed at all times.

We spent 8 nights at Beaches and Dreams in February 2025 and it was perfect. The staff are extremely accommodating, even when I changed our tour choices a couple times. The tour guides we had, Victor and Keith for land tours, and Floyd, Mike and Anthony for sea tours were all very knowledgeable and helpful. I bought myself a solo trip for my birthday and Beaches and Dreams did not disappoint! Such a beautiful location in Hopkins, Belize. The staff know the locals. The excursions are fun, the city/town is safe, the food is amazing with daily specials, and the overall experience is unmatched! I’ll be back Belize and Beaches and Dreams! It's as advertised. A change of pace. The restaurant is very, very good. The staff is friendly and helpful. Most of our interactions were with Victor and Keith on tours, and Milky and Ben in the restaurant. Miss P was cool too. For the week we were there (last week) we felt like the staff was part of our lives. It must be a talent they have to get that connected to people week in and week out. The ebb and flow of people coming and going. Must be a blur. The resort is your base for tours and adventures. The village of Hopkins is a brief diversion. Rent a golf cart and you can cover Hopkins in two hours. Highly regard this resort, just know what it is you want to do and have a plan. If you just want to sit around and look at the ocean that's great too. Just don't tell you're bored later. Have a plan for activities and go see Belize! - Walt - 1/01/2025
